First Fall Workday

Students are back in town and we celebrated at the garden with our first workday of the fall. We spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon harvesting, planting (swiss chard and spinach, which are cold-resistant), and weeding. Take a look at the lovely produce we harvested (which we donated to Campus Kitchens at NU, a group that provides meals for needy area residents) and our equally lovely gardeners

Above: butterhead lettuce, speckled lettuce, spinach, basil, swiss chard, tomatoes, red potatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers, and.. eggplant!
